Question by Rocky: I’m going to pursue diploma in ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING and I would like to continue my degree in MECHANICAL.
I’m going to pursue diploma in ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING and continue my degree in MECHANICAL. Am I allow to do that??

Best answer:

Answer by swimdemon311
Well, you could study Elec.E in the undergraduate arena, which would earn you a Bachelors of Science. I am in my senior year of Electrical Engineering and I do not recommend double-majoring in anything, let alone the massive beast that is ME. However, if you are interested in both, you could study one in your undergraduate studies and pursue the other as a graduate degree.

CradlePoint Eyes Overseas Expansion and Broader Carrier Engagement with Hire of Telecom Industry Leader

Boise, ID (PRWEB) March 08, 2012

CradlePoint, a leader in enterprise connectivity, today announced that Lindsay Notwell has joined CradlePoint as Vice President of Carrier and International Business. Notwell comes to CradlePoint with more than 30 years of operational, marketing and sales experience within the telecommunications market. He spent most of the last decade working at Verizon, where he served in a variety of roles including Executive Director of LTE Strategy, Planning and Implementation. In this position, Notwell played a crucial role as he led the planning and rollout of Verizon’s highly successful implementation of the world’s first large-scale Long Term Evolution (4G LTE) network.

Reporting directly to CradlePoint’s CEO and Chairman of the Board, George Mulhern, Notwell will be responsible for advancing CradlePoint’s growing international business and strengthening its relationships with the largest telecommunication carriers in the U.S. and around the world.

“I am looking forward to working directly with George and the rest of the management team, our customers, and key partners to further expand CradlePoint’s footprint within the industry,” said Notwell. “CradlePoint’s broad suite of 3G/4G solutions fulfills a significant need in today’s evolving wireless enterprise market. CradlePoint’s technology bridges the gap that exists for enterprises to confidently adopt and deploy cloud and mobility-based computing, which has resulted in significant traction with some of the world’s largest brand names.”

Most recently, Notwell ran his own consulting firm, nGen Strategies, LLC, where he served as founder and Chief Executive Officer. nGen Strategies is a high-level business consulting firm that focuses on helping start ups, manufacturing and OEM customers deliver meaningful next generation networks, as well as customer experience management within the telecommunications market.

Throughout his career at Verizon, Notwell served in a variety of marketing roles of increasing responsibility, including pricing, promotion, product development, wireless data, training and distribution strategy. Before his involvement with 4G LTE, Notwell was the leader and architect of Verizon’s Net Promoter Score® (NPS) customer experience program. He also served as Verizon’s key liaison with Vodafone on numerous collaborative projects. Notwell holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and sociology, as well as an MBA from the Ohio State University.

“Lindsay is an industry veteran who brings a tremendous amount of experience, established relationships and knowledge that will provide great insight to CradlePoint as we expand our solutions, service offerings and customer base,” said Mulhern. “We are excited to have Lindsay join the CradlePoint team and be a part of its tremendous momentum and growth.”

Today’s announcement builds upon CradlePoint’s recent momentum since the beginning of the year when it announced its 4G LTE Certification by Verizon, its new suite of business continuity solutions, as well as recognition with industry awards and participation at key events, including; Consumer Electronic Show, National Retail Federation Conference and recently as a speaker at the 2012 M2M Evolution Conference.

Question by : I graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering 6 yrs ago in the Philippines…?
I graduated with a degree in Electronics Engineering in the Phils, I have not worked related to this field since and now I would like to pursue a career in IT, preferably in Network Administration here in the US. What advise would you give me to pursue this career? Should I go back to school and take a Masters Degree or enroll and take some credits so I can do internships?

Best answer:

Answer by Sergio__
To find jobs as an IT you’ll need certification for the different types of technologies in the market.
I would advice to get a masters in electrical engineering (I’m an EE as well so my opinion is biased) since it pays more than IT jobs and that’s what you went to college for.

Question by : 2 year degree in electronics to 4 year degree in electrical engineering?
I’m about to go back to school and want to get in the field of electronics since I am an Electronics Technician in the Navy. My question is, will an associates degree in electronics transfer to an path in electrical engineering degree later? or should i just go straight into the electrical engineering path now? don’t want to get the 2 year degree then have to retake a whole other set of classes later on for the 4 year degree. its like they’re the same field but different.

Best answer:

Answer by PE2008
A 2yr ABET-accredited degree in Electronics Engineering Technology can be a path to Electrical Engineering but only if “pre-requisites” are chosen carefully. It’s more common to consider a 2yr Electrics Enginneering Technology degree as a path to a 4yr Electronics Enigneering Technology degree.

Most 2yr “Electronics” degrees are self-contained and none of their credits transfer to Electrical Engineering.

Engineers of all types are in short supply, so – pretty much anything you want. My engineering majors go to Texas (Houston, especially) or Colorado (Colorado Springs) and earn starting salaries equal to what I earn as a 20-year tenured professor.

The internals of an older Delta Electronics ATX12V 1.2 power supply unit. The C suffix probably stands for contractor, because in this OEM shape (Medion AG) it comes with a different fan guard and is restricted to 230 V input. Typical for a design of this age (2003), its energy efficiency would be considered obsolete today: while I did not found independent measurements, the minimum number of 65 % stated by the manufacturer corresponds to the heating of the case under medium load. The fan controller is balanced towards low-noise operations – perhaps are more conservative setting would have prolonged the life-span of this exemplar.
