You are more than half way there. Most of your courses can be used for a civil engineering degree. In fact if you get a PE, in most states, the PE can be used in any field. However, you should take courses to know the material.

Go to your local Civil engineering school with your transcript. Have them review it, and tell you which courses can be applied to the Civil engineering degree. With luck, you may only require a hand full of courses.

IEEE Computer Society Thanks Volunteers Who Worked on Update of Certified Software Development Associate Exam

The Certified Software Development Associate (CSDA) credential is intended for entry-level developers.

Thirty-eight IEEE Computer Society volunteers from universities, government agencies, and the private sector contributed efforts to refreshing the Certified Software Development Associate certification to bring it in line with current practices and other Computer Society software development offerings.

The 14-month effort began with a job requirements analysis that led to the framework for the new examination, which will be available to test-takers in 2012. Items from the existing CSDA examination were reviewed in October 2010 to see how many would be relevant for the new examination. The process of writing and reviewing 292 new items was initiated in March 2011.

The new examination brings the CSDA in alignment with Version 3 of the Guide to the Software Engineering Body of Knowledge (SWEBOK) and current software engineering industry trends. These changes will maintain the CSDA’s standing with ISO-IEC standards for software engineering certifications.                                    

The CSDA refresh is also part of an effort to create consistency between the CSDA and the Certified Software Development Professional (CSDP) credential, Version 3 of the SWEBOK Guide, and the SE 2004 Curriculum.

Are there any electronics engineers out there or college students majoring in EE that can give me a better idea of what they do? I mean I know they design electrical circuits and stuff but what else do they do? Are they using math and science all day at work? How is an average day as an electronics engineer like? Thanks!

When I was doing that some years ago I designed a few data acquisition modules for a physics experiement. So over the lifetime of the whole project there would be meetings to discuss the requirements and budget, a conceptual design, maybe building and testing a prototype to see if the basic idea worked, then doing a design in CAD, simulating the design to make sure it would work right, ordering parts, designing programmable logic or gate arrays, designing a circuit board, testing and debugging a produciton prototype (using oscilloscopes and logic analyzers), integrating into other systems, plannint produciton runs, commissioning production units (possibly at another site), writing test software, documenting the design and usage, etc.

As regards math, I did mostly digital which used mostly basic arithmetic day-to-day, sometimes in hex. Analog electronics uses more complex math like exponential decay formula, maybe some calculus.
If you are actually designing integrated circuits from scratch, rather than doing it from a playbook of standard components, it may get seriously complicated. E.g. you are trying to design a high-intensity laser diode or something.

NASA Langley Uses MÄK RTI to Implement HLA in Large Scale Air Traffic Management Simulations

It seems to me you are confusing an Engineering degree with some kind of technical certificate. Real engineering graduates do not bother with trifles such as MCSE or CCNA.

Electronic Manufacturers, Suppliers and Retailers Get Ready for World’s Largest Electronics Fair

Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition)

Innovative electronic products will be showcased in the world’s largest electronics fair this October between 13-16, when HKTDC Hong Kong Electronics Fair (Autumn Edition) provides the springboard to global markets for electronic manufacturers and suppliers. In its 31st edition, the fair expects a record-breaking 3,000-plus exhibitors from around the world. During the fair period, a series of industry-specific seminars will be organised for visitors. Green ideas will be exchanged at a “Green Electronics Forum” hosted by Taiwan Industrial Technology Research Institute, followed by a product launch session on eco-friendly electronics innovations.

electronicAsia, will showcase the newest products in components and assemblies, together with solar photovoltaic and display technologies from across the world. Entering its 15th edition, electronicAsia is hosting a record-breaking number of exhibitors – over 600. Opportunities for electronic manufacturers and suppliers will be multiplied in two notable ‘fairs within a fair’, namely the World of Display Technology and the World of Solar.
